Maltimore<p>Like many others of you on here, I'm just sad and tired of people migrating from Twitter to <a href="https://social.tchncs.de/tags/Bluesky" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>Bluesky</span></a> or <a href="https://social.tchncs.de/tags/Threads" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>Threads</span></a>, just to be predictably disappointed. Surprised pikachu face and all that.</p><p>Do so many people just lack critical thinking skills? Are they mentally lazy?</p><p>Even on the fediverse though, support for the <a href="https://social.tchncs.de/tags/FediPact" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>FediPact</span></a> isn't exactly strong, with many instances just federating with known bad actors.</p>

Most folks don't really understand this stuff, but are convinced because it is repeated in the media and their associates are doing the same thing. </p><p>This is a teachable moment. Hopefully people will see the vulnerability and the inherently more defensible nature of the Fediverse and make decisions accordingly.</p>

I'm guessing it would be up to each server admin if they chose to follow those government requests, right? Have we seen anything like this happen on Mastodon servers yet?</p>
