Text rendering: So you've probably tried bitmap rendering and TrueType font rendering, and maybe even some kind of text meshes as well...
BUT have you tried text volume rendering, using GPU raymarching?
🙃

Someone sent me a DICOM dataset, presumably containing a human CT scan, but one of the datasets contained.. text.. represented as density values in a volumetric dataset
:pika_surprise:

If nothing else, at least it's single pass!

It occurs to me that to clip triangles to a view frustum you have to add both vertices and triangles. You can't just move the original vertices, because other triangles may use them, and the new vertex needs to be at the point where the edge intersects the view frustum.

Of course, a sophisticated enough renderer won't care if part of the triangle is outside the view frustum, and it'll just drop triangles that are entirely outside. I'm mainly thinking about this because I wanted to use SDL_RenderGeometryRaw, which doesn't do these things, as a test renderer.
