An #introduction I'm Metin from the Netherlands. Starting as a 16-bit game developer (#Amiga, CD32, MS-DOS, …), I shifted to TV animation, news cartoons, magazine illustration and toy design.
My freelance glory days are over, but I still love to create, and share my work here and on @Seven
Hey everyone!
Here’s episode 3 of my low poly timelapse series!
This time I’m modeling three fantasy-themed items: a shield, a war horn, and a druid staff.

Some travel pictures taken during the hippo's journey from Unbound via ZBrush to Blender.
See for more impressions and info.
The final hippo rendering.
His journey went from Unbound (SDF modeling) to ZBrush (some sculpted details) to Blender (Cycles rendering).
Then, a bit of post-processing in Affinity Photo and PhotoScape X (Pro).

The components I need to match the System Source Computer Museum's IBM 7090 components are all done! Printed (this is ~ 1:12 scale) and assembling the 7617. Need to apply decals and then I'll show a pic of it all together. #3Dmodeling #miniature
PS - The 711 and 7617 aren't actually blue, they're gray. I just didn't change that color on the render.)
A little hippo modeling update…
Installed my last perpetual license version of ZBrush and gave the rocks more detail in there.
Modeling is ready now. I'll add Blender Cycles materials and lighting tomorrow for a nice new rendering.
Here's a little Trek render, took me a while to be happy enough to do it, so here it is. And yes, it's a WIP model.

Minor hippo modeling update…
Sculpted some grass detail in Blender Sculpt Mode. Placing brush strokes has a calming, meditative effect. Recommended.
Next up: some stylized cracks in the rocks. I hope you enjoy these work-in-progress updates.
Hippo modeling update…
After being born in Unbound, it's time for him to explore the world of Blender.
I realized that I had totally forgotten to add some nostrils in the Unbound version. So I added those in Blender now, along with a tail.
Exported my Unbound hippo to Blender. The SDF volumes have meshed nicely.
Going to add some details and render using Blender's Cycles.
The IBM 7151 console is done. Part of my project to build a miniature replica of the IBM 7090/7094 system. This one was made to match the One shown in Hidden Figures, So it has the dark gray light gray panel colors.

Unbound hippo modeling update…
To do: nails, a tongue and a platform. To be continued.
Want to try Unbound yourself? It's free and available for Windows and macOS:
After years of working with a Windows PC, I'm back on #Mac. There's one tool I will dearly miss though, and that's the #MagicaCSG SDF 3D editor.
But there are SDF 3D editors for macOS as well, most notably the Unbound SDF modeler + game editor:
I've started a little Unbound character project to get familiar with it again.
More will follow tomorrow…
