This is a fantastic kit, but for me, has been let down by the decals. Discoloured and darker than on other builds I’ve seen.<br>

Don’t let my experience put you off though, Horner Shipyards have released a fantastic kit, I’ve just had some very bad luck with the decals.<br>

MKM ModelwerxAll the dorsal aztec decals are now on. Again, one side is a greenish grey and the other a reddish brown. Definitely a printer issue as I’ve had my own decals come out the same way. Anyway, I’ll let them set for a few hours, before I start applying name/registry/marking decals on the ventral side. MKM ModelwerxVentral Aztec decals have been applied. There’s still some red/brown discolouration but nowhere near as bad as the first set. Maybe I’m just unlucky with decal sets. They’re also a bit too dark for my liking (still a great set of decals though). MKM ModelwerxI’ve applied the first 2 decals to the <a href="https://pixelfed.social/discover/tags/Enterprise?src=hash" class="u-url hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#Enterprise</a> G and I have to be honest, I’m not happy with them. They have a red/brown tint to them. They are supposed to be grey. I have 2 choices: continue applying them and be unhappy with the result or remove them and just apply the name/registry/marking decals and be unhappy with the result. <br>

I’m not going to paint the aztecs now and have bought the Aztec decals instead. I’ve painted the model very light grey, then removed all the masks and trimmed all the fibre optics. I’ll keep the dark grey areas as they are.
