@rtnf oof, yes. I was so happy when Every Door (https://every-door.app/) appeared, it makes it so easy to map entrances on the go.
@znrgl @rtnf I would point out that @vespucci_editor has had automatic adding of entries and address prediction for literally -ages-.
@simon Hah, yeah, I never really got warm with Vespucci. More different tools means it becomes more likely there's something for everyone.
@znrgl It mainly means unsustainable splitting of development resources over ever smaller and smaller market segments.
And yes that's the reason for the thinly veiled constant begging for money.
See https://en.osm.town/@zverik/112205730523510609 for a longish thread that includes some hard numbers (and doesn't even include the long tail of apps).
@simon I see it more from a practical side – while Vespucci was the only mobile editor I knew, I rarely did edits from my phone. With OSM Go, Every Door and StreetComplete, that has changed a lot.
Or it also allows the community to see new ideas that appear in other apps over time

@foxy @znrgl in all fairness I have to point out that that idea didn't originate with us (well in the specific form it did, but not the concept). That said, we've done lots of stuff years before anybody else, but mostly everybody builds on ideas that other people have .... see for example Kort https://wiki.openstreetmap.org/wiki/DE:Kort_Game which had the idea of challenges very early on (I was slightly involved with that).
In the end there is very very rarely something that is truly original.
