OpenStreetMap.org will shortly be available READ-ONLY. You will unfortunately NOT be able to save any map edits. We will be running on our backup infrastructure in Dublin. We are working to restore full services and we are waiting for our ISP to restore services in Amsterdam.

@osm_tech that's great, thank you! Was just wanting to load some quests on StreetComplete, now I can do all the mapping – edits are queued and can be uploaded later anyway :)

We have chosen to wait for the ISP restore rather than activating our higher risk disaster recover plan. Operations Team are working to restore - 15 December 2024 (Updated)After leading several major incident service recovery teams, the details of a real-world failure are always more complex than anyone expects. I’d suggest patience until the hosting provider issues a root-cause report, and this can be used to review the overall architecture against availability goals, and yes, costs.

We are switching to the new ISP. (Minor matter of me having to get new ISP setup working on our routers with some virtual networking required for simultaneous upstream ISPs, and some special VRRP setup required for the new ISP redundancy setup)
