Oh, I thought the 500 char limit in was configurable. Now I wonder what software are running on the instances of people who post long toots. For the moment, I found this sight fork:

@mdione it is configurable with 1 or 2 small file edits and then recompiling.🤷‍♂️

@BeAware that's more "recompilable" than "reconfigurable" :) But yeah, I guessed that much.

@mdione well, I just never found it difficult to recompile and to me, it's so easy that it seems comparable.

Maybe just me though.

@BeAware If I want to automate installing and configurin Mastodon on a serer, I would rather not have to install a compiler there.
