Some countries have seen an increase in places like coffee shops being unionised, and some people want to filter based on this.

How can we tag (in ) that the employees in a venue are in a labour/trade ?

What about `employee_union=yes/no`? What do you think?

exists so that regular humans like us, can control what is, and isn't, mapped; instead of old fashioned power gatekeepers.

OTOH tagging grows from the interaction of “People adding data” (mappers) & “People reading/using the data” (data consumers). If both are present, then good OSM data grows. This sort of _data use_ might create better mapping.

We could add this sort of thing to 🤔
(except I fear healthcare tagging (in general?) in might be a bit of a mess…)

Seeing that Roe vs Wade will be overturned, I want to create a website where women can enter in where they are and see the closest available safe & legal abortion clinics.

DM to collaborate.

Today I start a new journey. After 15 years as a volunteer sysadmin for OpenStreetMap… today I become a full-time paid employee of the OpenStreetMap Foundation. I look forward to humbly helping build OSM's exciting future. ☺️🌍📈

You can always tell when someone plans a cycle tour with Google Maps 🙄🙄😡😡

Hi New folk! If you'd like to find some other people to follow, check out the Trunk. There's a database of users that describe their images, too #NewUsers #NewUser #FediTips #Fediverse #Mastodon #Twitter #MastoTips

Another tip: Every Mastodon account has RSS built in. Just add .rss to the end of the URL for your account, e.g.

That lets people follow your public posts from an RSS reader, but it's also useful if you wanted to use IFTTT to crosspost your public posts to another platform.

A few years ago I made this flow chart of which Mastodon posts end up in which timelines!

So, you can see how each instance will have a different local timeline, and even a slightly different federated timeline - and you can see why the federated timeline moves so much faster than the local one, too.

This is why it's important to boost good posts and use hashtags - the fediverse is fragmented and harder to search by nature.

For those not on t̶̶h̶̶e̶̶ ̶̶h̶̶e̶̶l̶̶l̶̶s̶̶i̶̶t̶̶e̶ Twitter, you may have missed that it has been sold to Elon Musk.

Expect new users. 🙂

My Mastodon accounts are @ebel for general/personal stuff and @amapanda for stuff

Now I wanna make a special global map of this Iᶜᵣeland metric... 🤔
