Some more Wollaton Park galls for @fowp a short
On Bracken :
* Little Black Puddings Dasineura pteridis (=filicina), swollen rolled and blackened pinnule (from previous years)
* Chirosia grossicauda, curled up end of pinna
* Aceria preridis : curled up and abnormally hairy ends of pinna (first time I've ever seen it)
Bonus pot Beetle Cryptocephalus sp. too
On the Turkey Oak on Arbour Hill:
* Andricus grossulariae. Old catkin galls from the Spring. Causer is a gall wasp.
* Aceria cerrea : a bulge in the leaf with a corresponding hairy patch beneath, caused by a mite, Aceria cerrea.
On the Arbour Oak
* Ram's-horn gall (Andricus aries)
* Oyster gall (Neuroterus anthracina)
* Common Spangle gall (Neuroterus quercusbaccharum)
Lastly a few others
* Cola-nut gall from Arbour Hill
* Aceria tenella on the Hornbeam next to Beeston Lodge. A series of small blisters along the midrib.
* Acalitus brevitarsus on an Alder by the lake
*Vasates quadripes on Silver Maple near the Hall.
Of these at least 3 are ones I've not seen in the Park before. There's potentially over 100 species of galls to be found, but the deer browse line doesn't help.
@SK53 many thanks - I've embedded these into our website:

Let me know if you'd like a more informative attribution than "SK53".
@fowp Frustrated to not get in the Hall gardens again, but was able to add a few more galls. Aceria ilicis on Holm Oak leaves accessible from outside. Also on Beech Hartigiola annulipes and Aceria nervisequa. On Alder, by the lake, the vein gall Eriophyes inangualis.
@SK53 Thanks. The gardens were closed for 5-6 weeks for tree maintenance. They have now re-opened.
@fowp Thanks. Last timemit was a private event. I'll try & make another visit before leaf fall. The Oaks should be while yet.
@SK53 Ha Ha - the "private event" sign was the only one they had available. The "private event" was tree surgeons in the garden!
I've updated the tree map with notes on what was done.
