@CjMalone Good idea. I'm drawing a lot of parking spaces with the Terracer plug-in. But I'd say don't wait that something is rendered in a certain map visualization to tag it if it's something of interest to you. New map rendering appear also simply because there is data to render.

Direct/private messages are NOT end to end encrypted on #mastodon, don't use it for anything sensitive - microblog.shivering-isles.com/

You'll have to manually encrypt messages using pgp or something if you want #privacy on DMs. If you're concerned about this, just try to let the #devs know. An ideal solution would be to implement e2ee on the #activitypub protocol itself, so that all #fediverse platforms and future platforms get it. This way, even cross-platform DMs would be encrypted.

If you're new to the Fediverse, here are some good first steps:

-Post a bit about yourself and what you're interested in, using the hashtag #Introduction so that people can say hello to you

-Follow some interesting accounts, a good place to start is at mastodon.online/@FediFollows/1

-If you're looking for people to follow you, add yourself to Trunk, a community-run site: communitywiki.org/trunk

-Add a fun avatar to your profile (did you know they can be animated GIFs?)

#introduction

Hi scholar.social, Hi fediverse!
Mark here from Delft, Netherlands. I just started a PhD to research socio-technical enablers/inhibitors of software testing. In the next 4 years I will look into how and why developers do (not) test software. I am particularly interested in the social dimensions of this which is why I'm also curious to learn more about ethnographic research methods.

Looking forward to be a part of the scholar.social community to connect and share insights!
