Do you use them? In what context?

I've used them very occasionally for software testing during development and on CI. They do strike me as a rather inefficient way of deploying production software though.

Curious about other people's experiences.

@61 I first did large scale Docker stuff at Getty Images. Almost everything there is on Docker. They are space inefficient to some extent (base layers can be shared, although it rarely happens in practice) but the immutability of the container greatly helps when talking about stability and dependency management. It can introduce security problems unless carefully managed. I've written an article about my experiences with Docker here:
